Heading for HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7
The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is the largest IT organization dedicated to healthcare in the world with actions focused on improving health through the use of information technology. The Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) is an eight-step process (0-7) that allows the evaluation of the level of EMR adoption, which allows a hospital to assess its current status, map its results and track its progress through a comparison with other hospitals in the world, in addition to formatting a strong analytical system, enabling important decision making that affect the patient’s quality and safety.
During a presentation at the MV Experience Forum 2015, the CIO of Hospital Unimed Recife III, Andreza Montezuma, presented the challenges for the construction of a digital hospital, the achievement of stage 6 of the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the new challenges towards the stage 7. Hospital Unimed Recife III was the first hospital in the North/Northeast region and the third in Brazil to obtain the certificate from the largest IT organization dedicated to healthcare in the world with actions focused on improving health through the use of information technology.
